Naomi Simon, MDDr. Simon obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Oklahoma, with a bachelor of science in zoology, and a minor in classical studies. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, and was named to the Letseizer Honor list for the top thirteen woman in her graduating class. While a senior at the University of Oklahoma, she was the Oklahoma state winner and national finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship competition.

Dr. Simon spent a semester at a graduate level Christian theological studies program in California before entering medical school

Dr. Simon obtained her medical doctorate from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. As a graduating senior, she received the Arthur C. Curtis scholarship from the University of Michigan Dermatology department for an outstanding senior going into the field of dermatology

Dr. Simon did her internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and then did her dermatology residency in the world-renowned University of Michigan Dermatology Department.

She is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Acadamy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons.

Dr. Simon has presented at national meetings on subjects such sweat gland diseases, cutaneous lymphoma, and blood vessel sarcomas. She is currently completing a research project on nutritional factors related to acne prevalence and severity, with the University of Michigan departments of Dermatology and Public Health. She has given talks to University of Michigan faculty and staff on leprosy, military dermatology, lichenoid eruptions in children, and cutaneous manifestations of malignancy.

While at the University of Michigan, Dr. Simon received special training in melanoma and all types of skin cancers, including rare skin cancers such as merkel cell carcinoma and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, skin rashes, autoimmune skin diseases, blistering skin diseases, eczema, acne, psoriasis, and benign skin neoplasms. She also performs cosmetic procedures such as botox, facial fillers, and laser treatment for dyspigmentation, redness, and telangiectasias.

Dr. Simon loves living in the Lake Norman area, and enjoys spending time outdoors (wearing sunscreen of course) with her husband, an aerospace engineer, and their two sons. She also enjoys traveling, studying the history of medicine, and playing piano.

Scott Paviol, MDDr. Paviol obtained his undergraduate degree at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with a BA in Neuroscience. While at F&M, he was a John Marshall Scholar, graduated Magna Cum Laude, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He was accepted by the Penn State College of Medicine following his sophomore year of college.

While at Penn State College of Medicine, he was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honors society. In addition, he was one of 30 students nationally selected for the Clinical Science Training Program at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, where he spent a year performing individualized research on Type 1 Diabetes. He also spent a month in Ecuador as part of a program bringing medical care to underserved areas.

Dr. Paviol completed his internship at Scripps Hospital in San Diego, California and then completed his dermatology residency at University of Michigan, which is ranked as a Top 5 Dermatology program in the country.

While at the University of Michigan, Dr. Paviol received specialized training all types of skin cancers, including melanoma and more rare skin cancers such as merkel cell carcinoma and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. Training also included skin rashes, autoimmune skin diseases, blistering skin diseases, eczema, acne, and psoriasis.

Since graduation from residency, he was selected for and completed two, year-long leadership courses through the North Carolina Medical Society (Healthcare Leadership and Management; Leadership College) and is joining the Nominating and Leadership Development Committee with the NCMS. He and Dr. Simon co-founded the Physician Innovation and Resiliency Group (PHIRE) within Piedmont Healthcare which serves to promote physician well-being, innovation and leadership. He and Marc Carruth (Mohs Surgeon) co-authored their blog, PracticehealthRx.com, which is dedicated to shifting the healthcare experience for the benefit of patients, providers, and staff. In addition, he is a graduate of Accomplishment Coaching, an ICF accredited, in-person executive coach training program, and is dedicated to bringing leadership coaching to the medical field. His mission is to be physician-led change in healthcare through thought, word, and action.

Dr. Paviol enjoys spending his time with his wife, Heather, and their aussie/border collie Sullie. They love to travel, go for walks/hikes, go to concerts, and sit on their back porch in the evening hours. His other loves include Penn State football, Orioles baseball, coffee, fire pits, fireplaces, softball, tennis, cold war kids (band), acai bowls, golf, fly-fishing, tiny houses and podcasts. He also genuinely loves his patients and genuinely gets excited teaming up with them to improve their health.

Kristin Prochaska, PA-CKristin obtained her undergraduate degree at Providence College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She also graduated with academic honors from Tulane University with a Master of Social Work.  Kristin then attended a dual degree program at Nova Southeastern University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and a Master of Public Health.  She graduated in the top 10 percent of her class with academic honors.

Kristin has worked in the specialty of dermatology since 2003.  She regularly attends dermatology conferences and reads dermatology journals to stay current with new advances in her field.  She has extensive experience in general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology.  She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.  She is licensed by the state of North Carolina to practice medicine.

Kristin is a Rhode Island native.  She has lived in the Lake Norman area since 2006. She enjoys spending time with her family, her children and her cats.  Her hobbies include riding her Peloton bike, attending her childrens’ sports tournaments and listening to true crime podcasts.

Lauren Wilson, PA-CLauren obtained her undergraduate degree at North Carolina State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. While at NC State, she was a University Scholar, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Ambassador and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Scholar.

Lauren graduated from a dual degree program at Anne Arundel Community College and St. Francis University, where she earned her Physician Assistant certification and Master of Medical Science. While in graduate school, Lauren completed medical rotations in dermatology and plastic surgery in Baltimore, Maryland.

Lauren has worked as a dermatology physician assistant in the Charlotte area since 2014. Her professional areas of interest include general dermatology for adults and children, as well as dermatologic surgeries and cosmetic services. She regularly attends medical conferences and reads dermatology journals to keep up with advances in her field. Lauren is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina. She is also a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Having grown up in Mooresville, Lauren takes pride in serving her hometown community. She enjoys bike riding, traveling, photography and spending time with her family. She and her husband are also avid sports fans.

Gina Noble, PA-CPhysician Assistant, Gina Noble received both her undergraduate degree in Health Science and Master of Arts Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida. She spent the first six years of her professional career working as a Physician Assistant in Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida’s Shands Hospital and North Florida Regional Medical Center. She left emergency medicine to join a private dermatology practice and pursue her passion for all things skin! Gina joined the MDC family in 2018, when she and her family moved to North Carolina.

Gina is a NCCPA licensed Physician Assistant; she is ACLS/BLS certified and a current member of the Society of Dermatology PAs (SDPA). She is currently working on her SDPA Diplomat Fellowship. Gina’s attendance at medical conferences and penchant for journal articles keep her abreast of changes and/or advances in her field. Her interests include general dermatology for adults and children, as well as cosmetic services.

When she’s not in the office, Gina enjoys hiking, snow skiing, whitewater rafting and spending time with her husband, Mark, and their three children. She also enjoys traveling, particularly anything and everything related to the mountains, and cheering on her Florida Gators!

Susan Stevens, RNAesthetic Nurse, Susan Stevens is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Baylor University, Waco, Texas in 1987. Susan accepted a position at Baylor Medical Center in the Operating Room, where she gained surgical expertise in Orthopedics and Hepatology ( Liver Transplants), as well as Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery. She returned to Michigan in the 1990’s to work as a private scrub/office nurse for a plastic surgeon. Susan and her husband, Byard have 3 children, Ellesse, Claire and Cole who have quickly became young adults. The Stevens family has called North Carolina their home since 2004 and Susan joined the MDC family in 2011.

Susan is both passionate about and energized by her work; to maintain and enhance her knowledge and skills, she regularly attends industry meetings to stay apprised of developments in her field. Susan is certified in Laser Safety/Biophysics of Laser Application and as a Revision Skincare Brand Specialists; she also has certification in the operation and treatment integration of the following devices: Sciton Joule, miraDry, Candella CO2RE and Dermalinfusion.

Susan’s personal philosophy and approach to working with patients comes from a favorite quote by Ann Frank:

“Everyone has inside of her a piece of good news. The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!”

Susan believes she can best serve her patients by listening to their questions or concerns and providing honest, medically sound information and treatment plans to maximize each individual’s skin health and beauty.

Outside the office, Susan is fond of the ‘quiet life’. She enjoys the mountains or a quiet beach to unwind and spend time with her family. She is an admitted Food Network Junkie who loves featured restaurants which she can critique herself.

Michelle Caamano, RN, BSNMichelle is a Registered Nurse who joined the Cosmetics team at Mooresville Dermatology shortly after moving to the area from Texas. Family is a very important part of her life. After spending 17 years in Texas, she and her spouse returned to be closer to their families. She graduated with highest honors from West Coast University in Dallas Texas. In addition to working in Plastic Surgery for over 20 years she has also worked in Neuro ICU and the Emergency Room for a Trauma Center in Dallas. Michelle is an Advanced Nurse Injector and has been injecting fillers and neuromodulators since 2002.

Married for 24 years, Michelle and her spouse have a family of Furr Children and both are animal lovers. She is a foodie and loves to cook. She has a passion for travel and is working her way around the globe.

Giving back to the community is an important part of her life. She has become involved in several charities including Honor Flight. This organization is special to her as her father and husband are military veterans. She has spent time in Belize and Guatemala on medical mission trips as well.

She and her spouse love being outdoors. When they are not boating on Lake Norman they are hiking in the mountains.

Her personal preferences include books over TV and listening to old jazz. She earned a second Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Dallas. Her love of art often takes her into museums or to old architecture on her travels.

Chloe SavvidesChloe graduated from Florida State University (Go Noles!) and was with the Mooresville Dermatology family for two years and has been with MDC Cosmetics since its inception serving as the Cosmetic Coordinator for the entire department. She has been in the beauty industry for the last seven years as a freelance makeup artist and is now a Licensed Aesthetician. She is offering her own treatments with MDC Cosmetics! On the weekends, you’ll find Chloe working at her family’s breakfast and lunch spot here in Mooresville, slinging eggs and chatting with the locals! That sense of community is what she enjoys most about Mooresville and about our patients at Mooresville Dermatology Center and MDC Cosmetics.

In her spare time Chloe is an avid Greek folk dancer. She teaches the high school senior and young adult performing groups at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Charlotte, NC for the annual Yiasou Greek Festival and competitively for the annual Metropolis of Atlanta: Hellenic Dance Festival.

Telehealth is the use of digital communication to access health care services and records remotely. To put it simply, Telehealth is online doctor visits! These HIPAA compliant E-visits provide easy accessibility, convenience, and streamline documentation with your PHC patient portal.

When should you consider Telehealth?
Designed for minor health care needs- Telehealth visits are a great option if scheduling an appointment or finding time to have an in-office visit is inconvenient. Telehealth and online doctor visits should not be used in Emergency situations, please call 911 if you need immediate attention.
